A few things I keep in mind when connecting an interface to an API.

Working with APIs has taught me to think about the states around the happy path. What does the interface show while data is loading? What if the request fails, or returns nothing?

Clear feedback and a bit of patience go a long way. I’m learning to keep those states visible in the design instead of treating them as an afterthought.
